Our philosophy and aim are to provide a quality programme, creating a welcoming inclusive environment, where all families and children are respected and valued. Every child has a sense of belonging, is connected to others and contributes to their world.
We therefore strive to build trusting partnerships with families.
We take a holistic and inclusive approach to caring and educating our children with the aim to provide a quality programme, developing each child’s understanding of the world in which they live by developing broad based knowledge, skills and attitudes to prepare for lifelong learning. We emphasise a play-based program that is based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and My Time Our Place (MTOP) Framework.
We understand the importance of connecting children to the community and its environment in order to develop their respect for diversity. We value the pedagogy of outdoor learning and believe outdoor education fosters a sense of community and adventure, encourages exploration and inspires creative minds. ‘Exploring beyond the fence’ is a fundamental part of our curriculum, especially for our older children, by including natural resources, we underscore our fundamental belief in the importance of nature and all things natural. We acknowledge and value indigenous heritage and that of the wider community locally, nationally and internationally. We exhibit the spirit of community and dignity for all.
Developing a meaningful programme involves a joint effort between parents, children, families and educators. All children have a natural eagerness for knowledge, and we provide a supportive learning environment where children can develop at their own pace. All our programmes are aimed at assisting children’s social, emotional, creative, cognitive, linguistic and physical development as they undertake their developmental journey.
We believe that our educators are our greatest asset, as they are the driving force behind the health, safety and overall development of each child. We are supported by a parent represented management committee. Our motto “Team Work Makes the Dream Work” is reflected in the way that we provide opportunities for learning and growth, relying on the entire team’s collective areas of expertise, ideas and strategies.
Our role is to provide security, stimulation, support, limits and affection while facilitating a child’s interests and intellectual curiosity.
As we strive towards providing a unique service, we ensure a sense of connection through collaboration between occasional care, preschool, before and after school care and vacation care, creating a warm, empathetic “WOW factor” experience where everyone is part of the Kids Korner family.
